Overview:
The Global Schools Advocates Program is designed to equip educators and school leaders worldwide with the tools and knowledge to integrate sustainable development themes into their educational environments. This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to create a more sustainable world through education.
Program Components:
- Training:
- Online, asynchronous training on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
- Introduction to the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Approximately 10-15 hours of training.
- Completion grants the title of Global Schools Advocate and access to the Global Schools Advocate Toolkit.
- Introducing ESD to School Community:
- Advocates will conduct workshops to educate other teachers and inspire involvement in sustainable development.
- Utilize resources to integrate ESD into classrooms and tailor the program to their community context.
- Integrating ESD in School Community:
- Implement lessons and activities using provided materials to educate and inspire students.
- Customize the program to fit the needs of the school community.
- Sharing with the World:
- Engage with mentors and participate in monthly professional development sessions.
- Share experiences and ideas with a global network of educators.
